We are a church founded on the word of God, baptized by His Spirit, having outstanding services where the Spirit of God can move freely and make any area of our lives whole.

We are a church with no racial boundaries, God can reach where you''re at in whatever language you speak.

We offer diverse ministries ranging from youth to deaf; from Home Bible Studies to an ACTS program for anyone who has been or is addicted to drug or alcohol abuse.

We believe that everyone is different and everyone has different needs. As a church, our goal is to meet those needs and be a church where everyone can come and feel comfortable worshipping God together.

Our Pastor
Pastor & Sister Barnaby arrived in St. Louis to assume the pastorate of Spirit & Truth Church in August of 1994 with 12 voting members. Pastor Barnaby is from South Bend, Indiana, where he was a Youth Leader of 90 young people. While pursuing the ministry, he obtained a Bachelor''s Degree in Theology in Jackson, MS, was a Youth Pastor for a year, and for seven years fulfilled the calling of Evangelist all over the U.S. and 18 foreign fields.

During this time, Pastor & Sister Barnaby met and were married in her hometown of Modesto, CA. With an Associate''s Degree in Choir Music, Sister Barnaby directs the Spirit & Truth Choir, various Ladies ministries, and helps oversee Spirit & Truth Preschool & Daycare.

Under the leadership of Pastor & Sister Barnaby, Spirit & Truth Church has experienced steady growth and revival. In 2002 the church purchased property on I-270 in Hazelwood, moving them from their previous location in Spanish Lake, in September of that year.

Our mission statement represents the burden and passion of our Pastor and our church family. With it we are planting a dream and a fulfilling a vision: To prayerfully raise up leadership who will continue to affect the greater St. Louis area, even our whole world, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Our Worship
If you have never had the opportunity to be in a Spirit-filled service before, you will discover that Biblical expressions of worship are still practiced today.  Join in with us as we praise God together in spirit and in truth.

Biblical Expressions of Worship
We pray together aloud because in the Bible we read, "They lifted up their voice to God with one accord" (Acts 4:24).

We lift our hands in praise because in the Bible we read, "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord" (Psalm 134:2).

We sing with all our hearts because in the Bible we read, "Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth:  make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise" (Psalm 98:4).

We play musical instruments because in the Bible we read, "And all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments" (2 Samuel 6:5).

We clap and shout unto God because in the Bible we read, "O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph" (Psalm 47:1).

We dance before the LORD because in the Bible we read, "Praise Him with the timbrel and dance:  praise Him with stringed instruments and organs" (Psalm 150:4).

We testify publicly because in the Bible we read, "I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee" (Psalm 22:22).

We anoint with oil for divine healing because in the Bible we read, "Is any sick among you?  Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord" (James 5:14).

We allow the operation of the spiritual gifts because in the Bible we read, "When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation" (1 Corinthians 14:26).

Our Doctrine
About the Bible
The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living (II Timothy 3:15-17).

About God
There is one God, who has revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16).

About Sin and Salvation
Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).

About the Gospel
The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection) (I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4).

About Christian Living
As Christians we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today (Mark 12:28-31; II Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; I Corinthians 12:8-10).

About the Future
Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death (I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11 15).
